The Vega Surfski series brings together years of boat design experience to a sleek trio of skis that offers a comfortable surfing experience for everyone. The Vega design features a sharp entry, a precision rocker, and ample volume in the right places to keep you moving from bump to bump with smooth control. Whether you are just getting into the world of skis or have kayaked for years, you will love the Vega.
With an expertise in surf design and a reputation for comfort, Kai enjoyed the process of creating, hand shaping, and prototyping the Vega. As a result, the Vega has brought a surfing experience unlike any other to both new and experienced kayakers.

The Vega is an ultralight ski that falls in the Elite category, while offering the stability of an Intermediate ski. Much of this is based on how you are seated in the cockpit, sitting closer to the water offers a better feel for the conditions underneath you. With your heels below your seat, you have better leg drive to transfer more power to each stroke.
In all of Kai’s designs, comfort is always brought to the forefront. You can trust that every detail has been considered for someone to log hour after hour and mile after mile. We’ve received great feedback that the Vega is more comfortable than other skis in its class, something that makes a huge difference for racers going the distance.
With a seat well molded for comfort - sitting snug but comfortably - you have full control and the ability to use your hips for added maneuverability when needed. Refusing to compromise speed for surf maneuverability, the Vega moves through the flat with responsive acceleration and momentum.

The Vega Flex, our most flexible surfski, provides both stability and speed for the intermediate and competitive paddler.
We took our hand shaped Vega design and made a few adjustments to create the Vega Flex for the intermediate competitive athlete.
Additional stability is the main difference between the Vega and the Flex. The Vega's design features are inherent in the Flex, which include; A sharp entry, a bold rocker, and ample volume to keep you moving through the bumps and flat with smooth control, momentum & responsive acceleration.
Other skis in the Intermediate classification are big and bulky, often turning out slower times than someone looking to be competitive in a race circuit would want. The Flex provides stability and balance while cutting out the bulk, and without sacrificing performance. You have similar maneuverability and a sleek hull that looks great in a lineup.
Like the Flex before it, our newest surfski design looks to maintain sleek aesthetics while offering an easier transition for someone looking to get into the sport.
Starting with the Vega's DNA, Kai intentionally added volume only where needed, to offer stability without overbuilding.
The cockpit walls are a bit lower than the Vega to allow easier remounting and the seat is wider to accommodate a wider range of paddlers. The nose has a little less volume in height due to the lowered gunwales around the cockpit allowing for less resistance in cross wind.
With the Vega Arc you will still see the combination of strength and lightness that Ozone offers on our one mans, gone are the days of heavy beginner skis that can't keep up at race pace.
Our goal was simple: incorporate additional stability while holding on to performance, and allow a larger variety of paddlers the fun and fast experience they deserve.

Each Vega is reinforced with triple carbon in the center section for strength and durabilit.y Ranging from 20-21lbs the Vega Surfski is light and maneuverable on or off the water. The Vega Pro (our lightweight elite racing model) pushes the envelope at just 17-18 lbs.
