ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
Maui and Oahu had their island championships on the same weekend this year. I was originally planning on doing both races but ended up cancelling my plans and stayed home. I blew it. The Oahu Championships were on FIRE! Patrick Dolan and Bobby Pratt smashed the field. The ARES was loving the opportunity to finally surf in a windy race.
The girls had a great run as well with Amy Woodward and Angie Dolan taking 1st and 2nd place as well. Unbelievable success for the ARES.
On Maui it was quite the same. In the men's we took top three in the ARES with Kai Bartlett, Mael Carey and Kingi Gilbert. The women were the same with Emili Janchevis winning in her ARES followed by Kathy Shipman who got second in her brand new ARES as well.
